Introducing the Program Officer that monitors the
PEP Program in Columbus, Georgia

Natasha Chavez (Valentova)

Natasha Chavez (Valentova) is a Program Officer at the CCI Community Outreach Department. She markets the PEP project to civic clubs in the Southeast of the United States – Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolinas. It’s been a privilege to work with volunteers from the Muscogee Rotary Club!

Natasha came to San Francisco Bay Area in August 2001 to pursue her graduate studies in International Relations at San Francisco State University as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. She was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Novosibirsk-Center, District 5010 – geographically the largest district in the Rotary world. It covers 11 time zones and three countries – Alaska, USA; Yukon Territory, Canada; Siberia and the Russian Far East.

As a Rotary Scholar, Natasha was hosted by the Rotary Club of San Francisco #2, District 5150 – the second oldest Rotary club in the world. She is the founding member and president of the newly established Rotaract Club of San Francisco.

She has been actively involved in Rotary for the last six years – as a Rotaractor, Rotary Volunteer and Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. In winter 1999-2000 she had a chance to become the first Rotary Volunteer from Russia to provide humanitarian service abroad. She served at the American Russian Center in Anchorage, Alaska, and assisted its staff with business training for Russian entrepreneurs from the Far East and Eastern Siberia.

Apart from Rotary, Natasha enjoys reading, music, traveling and long walks along the Pacific coast with her husband Oscar. Professionally she is interested in political psychology and cross-cultural communication. She holds her Master’s degree in International Relations.

If you would like to talk directly to Natasha about the opportunity of sponsoring a PEP delegation, please call her at the following toll free number (888) 729-7071 or e-mail her at: natasha@ccisf.org.
