International Service
Director of International Service - Julia Ashley
It
is my honor to serve as the 2005 - 2006 International Chair for
the Muscogee Rotary Club. GSE, GRSP, and The Rotary Foundation
are some activities that fall under my umbrella for this year.
Group Study Exchange Program is
chaired by Carolyn Marlow. Each year our district, District 6900,
host at least one GSE team from another country. The team consists
of one Rotarians who is the Team Leader and four non-Rotarian
members. In addition to hosting a team which consists of providing
a home, meals, vocational tours and fun; District 6900 also sponsors
a team that we send to the same country of the members who we
hosted. The teams' visits last 4 to 6 weeks. Our very own, Carolyn
Marlow has been selected to lead the outgoing GSE Team to Venezuela
in October of this year for District 6900.
Georgia Rotary Student Program
is unique to our state. This year Mr. & Mrs Dennis Hendricks will serve as host family.
Rotary Foundation: One initiative
that Rotary International has is to eliminate polio. If all members
of Rotary give $100 per year for the next three years we can meet
this 2005 goal.
Since Rotary International is 100% participation,
our club's goal is 100% participation, too. Our club's goal is
$100 per capita. We have implemented a plan that we feel will
enable us to meet this goal. Each quarter members are charged
an additional $25 thus enabling us to have $100 per capita by
the end of the Rotary year. Todd Jarrell is our Rotary Foundation
Chairperson for the 2005 - 2006 year.
